Bingo Halls in Wales - Bingotastic's Map of the Clubs Still Open

Wales has 15 bingo clubs still trading, and almost all of them are in the south or the far north. That's the count from Bingotastic's Bingo Deserts study, which put a distance on every neighbourhood in Great Britain. In Wales, 47.5% of residents are over five miles from the closest club, a bigger share than in England or Scotland.

Castle Bingo's country

More than half the Welsh total belongs to one chain. Castle Bingo, run by Castle Leisure, has eight clubs across South Wales and three more over the border in England.

The empty middle and west

Outside the south and the north coast the picture changes completely. There's no traditional club anywhere in Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire, and in Powys there isn't a bingo premises licence at all. Haverfordwest is 44.8 miles from its nearest club, in Swansea. Aberystwyth's nearest is Caernarfon, 50.9 miles up the coast, and both distances are measured in a straight line, so the drive is longer.

Per head, Wales actually does better than England, with 4.71 clubs per million residents against 3.04. The trouble is the miles in between.
